The Florida Lighthouse Association (FLA) invites you to join its members for a weekend of fun, friendship, education, and adventure in Miami, Florida, during its annual/fall membership meeting on November 14–15, 2025. Meet and interact with lighthouse enthusiasts, museum professionals, historians, and historic preservationists during this fun-filled weekend event.

Our host will be the Friends of Cape Florida, a citizen support organization to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, which includes the Cape Florida Lighthouse (CFL), in beautiful Key Biscayne, Florida.  You'll have the opportunity to discover the fascinating history of Miami-Dade County's oldest standing structure, first built in 1825.  CFL has survived 200 years of erosion, dozens of hurricanes, an attack by Seminole Native Americans, and an explosion of lantern oil and gun powder.  Yet, despite all this, she still stands.  You will enjoy spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, Stiltsville's floating houses, and the Miami skyline from the top of the Lighthouse.  Best of all, you can be part of the celebration of this unique historical landmark, which is celebrating its 200th birthday in 2025.

On Friday evening, participants will enjoy a sunset/night climb of the Lighthouse, followed by our delicious dinner, social, and unobstructed water views of No Name Harbor at The Cleat Restaurant in Key Biscayne.  The membership meeting will be held on Saturday at the Key Biscayne Community Center.  On Saturday evening, have fun as you give a champagne toast to CFL in honor of its bicentennial and to FLA and CFL to celebrate CFL’s new lantern room windows, made possible by FLA’s $200,000 grant.  On Saturday evening, you will also have an opportunity for a sunset/night climb of the Lighthouse.  Take advantage of any free time on Key Biscayne and in greater Miami by exploring their many beaches, nature trails, museums, historic sites, entertainment, and restaurants.

Note:  The Friday evening sunset/night climb of the Lighthouse and dinner social are only for those participants who register and pay for the Full-Weekend and Friday-Only registration options, as denoted below under Event Participation Options and Rates.  Saturday-Only registration option is excluded.  Likewise, the Saturday evening champagne toast and sunset/night climb of the Lighthouse are only for those participants who register and pay for the full-weekend and Saturday-only registration options, as denoted below under Event Participation Options and Rates.  Friday-only registration option is excluded.
